PRIVATE RESIDENCE - River North in Chicago Completion Spring 2010
Project Designer as Associate Principal Architect while with Booth/Hansen, Chicago
Completed the home design and construction architect as John DeSalvo Design; including all working drawings, permit and construction administration with full service attention to custom designed built-ins, kitchen, vanities and mill work details.
The 8,200 SF five level home located in the River North area of Chicago is a modern classic. Chicago School inspired design has a steel framed , 2 story open living and entertaining area forming the center of activity. Home includes wine room, media center, catering kitchen and elevator for circulation. A private roof terrace with view of the Chicago skyline gives the home owners a quiet in-town zen inspired yet secure get away. The simple pallet of natural materials include Indiana limestone, zinc and walnut that all play with varied textures and size formats to highlight the nature of the materials. All custom woodwork, cabinetry and kitchens give the full JDD complete vision.
